Yoga? Oh no I can't do that, I'm not flexible, my mind doesn't relax and I can't sit still.
Is this what is holding you back from trying out a yoga or meditation class? Not necessary, this is why these aren't true:
1. I'm not flexible
Flexibility isn't what makes you a yogi, it's the other way around: yoga increases your body's flexibility. That's why people who practice yoga can bend in all sorts of ways! I started doing yoga to stretch my extremely tight hamstrings; now, when I fold forwards I can touch my toes!! If anything, the less flexible you are now, the faster you will see results by doing yoga.
2. My mind doesn't relax
Do you feel like your mind is always racing? You can never get a break from your thoughts? Join the club, everyone experiences this. Meditation is a great tool to slow down your thoughts and focus on the present moment. To get there, you practice deep breathing techniques (called "pranayama") and/or yoga poses ("asanas"). Or you follow a guided meditation class, where you get clear instructions on how to clear you mind. Again, a relaxed mind is NOT necessary to practice yoga and meditation; a relaxed mind will be the effect.
3. I can't sit still
Sitting still in a crossed legged position on a wooden floor for long periods of time is uncomfortable, and totally unneccesary to do yoga. Yoga is about finding what feels good for you. For example during meditation, use a pillow or blanket to sit (or lie down) on. During yoga, modify the postures to fit your body's needs. And go to child's pose whenever you need.

Conclusion
Why are you expecting to learn something new, and at the same time master it already? Yoga is like any skill. Decidate time and effort, enjoy the learning process and you will progress with time.
